Maureen Muzikar, teacher with a cause
Since 2006 when Maureen started “Maureen’s Mile” we have now raised over $200,000 for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Without the generosity of people like you it would not be possible.
Maureen Monica Muzikar, 29, of Lansdowne, a teacher who raised more than $50,000 to fight leukemia, died of the disease Saturday, May 24, 2008 at home.
Ms. Muzikar’s acute myelogenous leukemia was diagnosed in April 2006. In October 2006 and October 2007, she organized a team, Maureen’ Mile, to participate in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Light the Night walk at Penn’s Landing. She also held beef-and-beer fund-raisers. Today Joe & Mary Muzikar continue the fight and yesterday had the best turn out to date for their 4th annual golf outing, Great time.
